Booklets & Catalogues
We bind our booklets in 4 ways
-
Saddle stitching: double staples along scored sheets of paper form the traditional saddle stitched booklet. Remember that each side of the page counts as 1 so we need the total page number for booklets to be in multiples of 4. Saddle stitch binding works best for between 8 – 36 pages (any thicker and we find the books don’t fully flatten)
-
Perfect binding: This is where multiple pages are cut and glued to form a spine. We recommend a thicker cover for a perfect bound book and the glued spine provides a professional look and finish. Perfect binding is great for look books, annual reports, and catalogues. We recommend perfect binding for between 12 – 100 pages
-
Wire binding: Wire binding is perfect for a regularly used manual or report and student worksheets and reference manuals. We use a high quality twin loop wire bind and a clear acetate front and leatherette reverse. Wire binding is excellent for a few to a few hundred pages. We have a large range of black, white, and gold wires to fit all sizes! You can even wire bind with a hanger to make a calendar.
-
Case binding: needing a hard bound book for a special memento or thesis. We would be happy to discuss your project with you. Prices start from $450 + GST per book.
Booklet finishing options
Various finishes can be applied to both digital and offset Booklets. These include: matte/gloss celloglaze, spot UV Varnish, embossing, foiling, die cutting, scoring, perforating, special PMS colours, rounded corners, and hole punching. An additional 1-2 days is required for each finishing process. Price available on application.
-
Celloglazing: Is a thin laminate coating that not only makes your printing look and feel great it increases longevity.
-
Perforations: Make it easier for your customers to redeem your promotions by tearing out tickets.
-
Scoring/Folding: Scoring makes folding easier on heavy card and reduces the chance of the ink cracking on the folded area.
-
Foiling: Available in multiple colours but most common in metallic gold and silver for that regal look. Great on cards and flyers.
-
Drilling: Perfect for swing-tags & not just for fashion designers.
-
Die Cutting: Add an extra dimension to your print by cutting it to shape. Just about any shape is possible.
-
Embossing: Get bossy and add a third dimension to your printing.
